Players such as Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry and Diego Forlan have won the European Golden Shoe in the past few seasons, with Luis Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo as the latest winners of the award following their 31 goals in 2013-14. AshantiGold- Hearts of Oak preview: Miners hope to finish first round still on top

Robert Dabuo-Ashgold The Obuasi lads are aiming at maintaining their three-point gap as the first round of the Ghana Premier League ends on Wednesday
AshGold face yet another tough test as they host Accra Hearts of Oak at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi on Wednesday as the curtain is drawn on the first round of the league.
Bashir Hayford’s men have enjoyed a good first round campaign, having stayed on top of the log for many weeks, and with Aduana Stars breathing down their necks, the Miners should be bent on clinching all three points at stake.
Hearts, on the other hand, have had a rough first round campaign, despite chalking impressive results in the Caf Confederation Cup.
The Phobians, who lie 10th on the log, are just two points away from safety, but a win could take them very close to the top four as well.
Herbert Addo will be hoping to use the match to prepare his side for Caf Confederation Cup encounter with AC Djoliba during the weekend.
The former champions defeated the Malian club 2-1 in the first leg and are favoured to progress to the next stage.
Addo seems to be more concerned about the GPL match with his former side before even thinking about continental assignments.
“We know that the game will not be easy but we are also aware that we have to pick up three points on the road. We will begin preparations for the Djoliba game once the game with AshGold is over,” he toldGhanasoccernet.
Striker Gilbert Fiamenyo will also be hoping to add on to his eight-goal haul after being overtaken by Medeama’ s Nathaniel Asamoah, and also joined on eight goals by three other players.

Xenophobia: South African Minister Denied Visa To Enter Israel

Israel, thank you for doing this! You know their people suffered xenophobia back in the 1940s, so I guess they have zero tolerance for it. A minister from South Africa was denied visa to visit Israel for diplomatic work

Aljazeera reports: The government of South Africa has expressed outrage after Israel’s decision to deny a visa to Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande. Clayson Monyela, Deputy Director General of Department of International Relations and Cooperation, told Al Jazeera on Thursday the Israeli government needed to offer a reason for the snubbing. “We are taking it up through the proper channels. We need to receive a proper explanation for the denial of a visa to a sitting cabinet minister,” Monyela said. The minister was scheduled to travel to the occupied Palestinian territories from April 25-29. He was scheduled to secure further collaboration with the University of Johannesburg and institutions in Palestine.

told local media that the denial of the visa had caused a “serious diplomatic problem”. Naeem Jeenah, Director of Afro-Middle East Centre, based in Johannesburg, described the snubbing as “surprising” considering the two countries’ growing trade relations. Jeenah said the Palestinian solidarity movement in South Africa “would be thrilled” with Israel’s decision “because South Africa now has to respond to this matter”. Arthur Lenk, the Israeli ambassador in Pretoria, told Al Jazeera that South African officials routinely visit the West Bank through Israel. Lenk would not be drawn into discussing why specifically Nzimande’s visa application was denied, though he described the minister as being “very vocal on a range of issues connected to Israel, South Africa and my region”. The ambassador said the decision to deny the visa  visa was made in Israel. “The decision came from Jerusalem,” Lenk said. Vocal critic of Israel But Jeenah said that anything the Israelis say on the matter “could really only make the situation worse”. The Palestinian embassy in South Africa described the decision as “racist”. “We take note by this aggressive action that Israel is trying to implement the same rule as in the previous apartheid regime of South Africa,” the embassy said in a statement. The Palestinian lobby group Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS-South Africa) released a statement saying it’s “more confident than ever that its time to expel the Israeli Ambassador from South Africa”. “Israel cannot want to tell us who our friends should be, where we should travel and who we can speak with.” BDS said. Nzimande has been a vocal critic of Israel. His spokesperson said on Thursday the minister would call on all higher education institutions to cut ties with their counterparts in Israel. “We must just boycott Israel,” Nkwanyana reportedly said.

South Africa currently has full diplomatic relations with Israel and recognises Israel within the borders demarcated by the United Nations (UN) in 1948 - See more at: http://www.naijaloaded.com.ng/2015/04/24/xenophobia-south-african-minister-denied-visa-to-enter-israel/#sthash.VRLRS8n1.dpuf

Ladies, See The Things You Can Do To Keep Your Man

01 NkemThis is an interesting piece written by a lady to help other ladies learn and avoid the looming dangers.
There are certain things that push guys away from you and sometimes these turn-offs go both ways. Frankly some ladies find it hard to keep a man because of some things they do. Read details below:
Drama: This is definitely one of the top things that push men away. Women tend to be involved in more drama than men. It’s true that your boyfriend will be there to listen to you when you’re having issues, but being catty won’t highlight your best qualities. And being overly dramatic about some petty issue, such as why he didn’t call you first, will make him question the relationship. If you are a responsible lady or want to be one, try not to make a huge deal of something that can be easily fixed.
Possessiveness: Do you constantly check up on your boyfriend? If so, you might want to back off a little bit. When guys receive too many “Where are you?” texts, they tend to get annoyed. They don’t want to be in a relationship with their mom. You might think this is just you caring about him, but to him, it will feel like you don’t trust him, or worse, like you are trying to control him.
Playing dumb: Unfortunately, we ladies have all probably done this at some time or other. Truth is that playing dumb will lead you down the wrong path. He might eventually feel like you’re taking advantage of him or that you just aren’t capable of taking care of yourself, let alone you and the kid or kids when they start coming. Good guys believe a smart girl is much more worth keeping at home.
Clingy: A guy has got to have his own space! How much space a guy needs will vary. Some guys think that going out more then twice a month together is clingy, while others think that you never leaving his side is clingy. As a lady, make sure to observe your own man to figure out where he lies on the spectrum! When you give him what he wants, he will really appreciate your understanding and thoughtfulness – and he will try to make the time you do spend together that much more worthwhile.
Living in the past: It’s okay to share your past once you get comfortable with your new guy. Just don’t dwell on it. Not yours, not his, not “ours.” Don’t compare him to a fling that you had before, a sugar daddy or ex-boyfriend. And don’t compare yourself to anyone in his past – and definitely don’t dwell on a past disagreement that you two had. If you want him in your future, plan today with him.
Dishonesty: We hate being lied to. So why do we do it to a man we love? It doesn’t protect a relationship; in fact, it might destroy it. Communication is key in a relationship, so if you say things that you don’t mean, what’s the point? Try to express yourself and allow your man point out things that he doesn’t understand. Always make an attempt to talk things out. Believe me, it works wonders!
Remember that time you told him you loved that his shirt, even though really, you can’t stand it? Well, what are you going to do if he starts wearing it all the time to please you? That is it, you have all the work to do if you want to enjoy your man and have him spend his money you wholeheartedly.
Power struggle: I always cringe when I hear people joking about who wears the pants in a relationship. There’s really no need to do that. Learn to be humble and work well with your man. Your friends are loyal to their own men at home, no matter what they tell you. So don’t be obsessive over who has more power. Love is what you should ask for from your man, not his authority. You can!

South African newspaper, City Press, reported that Gana advised that rather than get angry and take the anger out on foreigners, South African men should “provide” properly for women, rather than lash out at non-nationals for “stealing” women away. Gana urged the crowd at the rally to spread the message of not taking part in xenophobic attacks to “our wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, makhwaphenis (secret lovers), neighbours and brothers”. “If you can’t speak to a girl, now all of a sudden a man that comes from Zimbabwe or Nigeria that can speak to a girl now must be killed. What is that?” “So I ask my fellow brothers from South Africa, if you want a woman please go speak up, don’t go around and killing someone from Nigeria because they can speak up for themselves. Speak out because it is important,” he told the crowd. He also urged South Africans to look at themselves and not blame non-nationals for stealing their jobs when these jobs didn’t exist in the first place - See more at: http://www.naijaloaded.com.ng/2015/04/25/xenophobia-nigerian-men-are-snatching-our-wives-girlfriend-south-african-politician-speaks/#sthash.dfpmXwUA.dpuf
